Here’s how Parkside and Cross Factor students are
Making the Extraordinary, Ordinary!

John Hopkins Center for Talented Youth Talent Search selected Parkside as one of the Top Schools in Massachusetts.

This Fall, students as early as 5th grade, took the PSAT's (not normally taken until sophomore year). One 5th grader got a 120 (the average sophomore only gets a 126), and a 7th grader scored 155 (the 66th percentile for college bound juniors). Our overall average (for 5th- 9th grade students) was 109, and the average for returning students went up 10 points from last year.

This Fall, students from 5th – 8th grade took the American Mathematics exam. Our top student (a 7th grader who has been at Parkside since Kindergarten) scored in the top 5% of all students in the U.S.

Our Science Olympiad team placed 13th in their first ever participation in the statewide event. In comparison, Boston Latin, a top performing school placed 10th. Our team was comprised of mainly 5th graders and their team started at 7th grade. Seven of our students placed in the top 10 of their individual event.

Our Head of School, Dr. Michael Dixon recently published a chapter on Assessment in "Faith-Based Education that Constructs" by HeeKap Lee. He also received an AP Teacher of the Year Award based in part on his dissertation work that addressed accelerated learning in math and science of urban students.

At our annual Pi Day Celebration on March 14, our winner for memorizing the most digits of Pi was a 5th grader who won with memorizing with 400 digits of Pi. Our 2nd place winner was a 7th grader with 212 digits, and our 3rd place winner was a 3rd grader with 161 digits.
