Won't you consider supporting Parkside and its students at this time?

Your tax-deductible gift by December 31st will help us continue to extend these unique educational opportunities to students eagerly awaiting them - stud ents who, in other circumstances, could so easily "fall through the cracks," with those around them failing to recognize, unleash, and celebrate their true potential.

Parkside Christian Academy

Annual Campaign

MISSION: POSSIBLE

Dear Friends:

It's been just over a year since we assumed leadership of Parkside Christian Academy.  Our 20-year dream of establishing a school that would unleash students and help them reach their true potential - spiritually, academically and in service to others - has been realized!  And what a tremendous privilege and blessing it is to be leading Parkside itself, a school founded on these principles, and with such a rich tradition of inspiring excellence.  There have been many such blessings!

In just the last year...
  • Enrollment has increased by more than 10%;
  • Crystal received the 2009 Women of Courage and Conviction Award for her work in education.
  • Our students have out-performed their peers in multiple statewide achievement tests
    - and academic accomplishment is only one of ways in which Parkside students are Making the Extraordinary, Ordinary!
With these successes have come a number of complex challenges.  Right now, we are meeting the biggest issue head-on: financing.  Parkside has historically relied on tuition for its financial stability, but income from tuition falls well short of actual operating costs.  A scattering of private donations every year makes up some ground - but not enough.

A solid base of support, independent of tuition, is critical to Parkside's mission of
providing a high quality education at an affordable price.

The school needs to close this $25,000 funding gap by December 31st.  We are asking you to consider a generous, year-end gift in support of the school, its mission, and its students.  Every gift - at one of these levels, or another - matters as we work to bridge the $25,000 funding gap by December 31st.

A first time Parkside donor has issued a 2:1 matching gift pledge of $8,000.  Therefore to receive the full $8000 matching gift, we need to raise $4,000 between now and Dec. 31st. (I am pleased to announce that we have fulfilled our $8000 matching gift challenge!)  Now we just need to raise the remaining amount indicated under the themometer to reach our $25,000 funding goal!

Please, take a moment now to help us reach our goal!  Click the link below to make your donation online, or read further for additional ways to give.

Yes! I will help support students at Parkside!

Aptitude! Opportunity! Achievement!

You can be confident that your gift will be instrumental in helping our students achieve at an outstanding level as they relegate "the achievement gap" to history!

Here are just a few of the ways in which Parkside students are Making the Extraordinary, Ordinary:

  • 90% of our classes performed above grade level as measured by the 2009 Stanford 10 national exam.
  • 5 students became John Hopkins Center for Talented Youth Scholars, a national program based on exceptional math and verbal ability.  One student earned a regional award.
  • In October, Grades 6-8 took the PSAT's for the first time,  typically attempted for the first time by high school sophomores.   Despite not having much time to prepare, our students - many as young as 11 and 12 - averaged a score of 101, compared to a score of 126 for 10th graders.  Our high score was a 129, and we had students reach the 87th percentile in Math and 74th percentile in Writing compared to college bound juniors.
  • 80 of our students eagerly engage in after school programs like Young Broadcasters, Technology Club, Chess Club, Liturgical Dance, Students Embracing Cultures, and Environmental Club.
  • Each student in grades 1-8 prepares two technology projects per year - one each term.  These vary as widely as their imaginations, and have included bridge breaks, Mousetrap cars, and Rube Goldberg projects.

These are not just achievements of the moment; they represent abilities, skills, knowledge, and strength that students will draw upon for the rest of their lives.
